Comment:

 We do require a good Java compiler installed on your system.  You should
 install Apple's Java if you haven't already.

 Changing as won't fix as there are other ports that depend upon the db46
 Java
 bindings and you can't specify dependencies on variants, so that's why
 java is
 the default.

 If you want, submit a patch for a no-java variant and I can apply the
 patch.
