 I am trying out a patch for kdelibs4 taken from Debian's packaging which
 renames applications.menu to kde4-applications.menu.

 The gnome-menus maintainers should take a look at Debian's packaging for
 gnome-menus, which also renames a couple of menus to prevent such
 conflicts.
