 I can't seem to install memcached with the +universal variant
 (universal_archs is x86_64/i386) on Snow Leopard. Configuration fails
 with:

 {{{
 configure: error: Don't know how to build a 64-bit object.
 }}}

 Debug log attached.

 It builds fine when doing a non-universal x86_64-only build.
