 It sounds like it was not installed with the universal variant. To fix
 this, reinstall it with the universal variant:
 {{{
 sudo port upgrade --enforce-variants libxml2 +universal
 }}}
 P.S: You don't want to use the `-f` or `-R` flags when you `port install`.
