 The attached patch prevents kdeinit4 from crashing, but it's not
 satisfactory as kdeinit4 still does not work:

 * kdedinit4 cannot find kded4 because kded4 is shipped in the form of a
 bundle in /Applications and hence not on the path
 * if I add a symlink to kded4 from /opt/local/bin, it gets run but cannot
 connect to DBus. The strange thing is that if I run kded4 manually, it
 manages to connect to DBus.
