 2.7.6 is a broken release.  See

 I'm waiting for 2.7.7 to be released before upgrading to it and I'll
 upgrade pretty quickly when it is released.

 Feel free to ping me again when 2.7.7 is out if you don't see an upgrade
 in MacPorts.
