 I have the same issue with additional problems. Maxima works fine in
 command-line mode; however when used through wxMaxima, the command prompt
 is missing, the arrow keys do not work for moving the cursor or cycling
 through command history (just get a system bell), and one needs to press
 "shift+return" in order to execute any input.

 This is after a clean install of Snow Leopard and MacPorts, and building
 with the patches for wxWidgets and wxMaxima discussed in other tickets
 (http://trac.macports.org/ticket/20952,
 http://trac.macports.org/ticket/22295).
