 No, people do not like to use the macports python (and perl, and ...);
 they are forced to.  Art least fink gives the option to use the system
 installed one or the fink one.  MacPorts should learn a thing or two.  And
 that excuse about broken versions Apple ships is just not accurate, or
 relevant.
