 What he said. I don't want to be stuck on 2.6.1 for the rest of SL's life.
 I happen to be doing dev on 26 and 31 - both of which are in MacPorts. I
 prefer using MacPorts python for versioning reasons, as well as the fact
 that I want random stuff littering the path - look at the poor Ruby
 people. They upgraded to SL and they're having no end of trouble with
 Apple's built in Ruby because of .dylib's compiled for extensions under
 Leopard no longer working.

 Regardless - the bug is registered upstream. Python can't be compiled on
 OSX - that in itself is a bug.
