 Changing checkout rules probably breaks other platforms, but works on Snow
 Leopard.  If SDL is still broken, use -sdl variant.

 This patchfile worked for me, using this: sudo port install mplayer +osd
 +fribidi +smb +xvid +x264 +binary_codecs +aa +caca

 Running the x86_64 snow leopard kernel.
