 If you need the .svn dirs as well, you need to set svn.method as well:

 svn.method checkout
 }}}
 By default it uses export, hence the missing .svn dirs (see
 [browser:/trunk/dports/irc/irssi-devel/Portfile irssi-devel] for a
 concrete example).
