 Is it just me? :-)

 I rebuilt wxMaxima, and started it.  The status bar showed "maxima process
 terminated".
 Turns out that the path to maxima was set to
 {{{/Applications/Maxima.app}}}, which doesn't exist on my system.

 Setting it to {{{/opt/local/bin/maxima}}} wins, in light testing.
 (Options page of the Preferences dialog.)
