 Hi,

 Im running 10.6.1 - just completed a fresh install of xCode from the Snow
 Leopard install disk and also the version of x11 that is included with
 Snow Leopard.

 When I attempt to run the package installer for the latest version of
 MacPorts, it "checks to see if the software can be installed on my system"
 and then pops up with an error stating "MacPorts-1.8.0 can't be installed
 on this computer." "The specified message could not be found for the index
 17."

 I couldn't find anything in the ticket database related to something this
 elementary - so im at a loss.
