 Due to problems with building qtiplot on Snow Leopard (see: #21442 ) it
 seems that there is a problem with the present version of qt4-mac not
 including support for qt3.  If there is a variant of qt4-mac which ensures
 the qt3 support is built then it's not documented.  There is a mention of
 variants of qt4 in this ticket #20362 but it's a bit confusing as to
 whether they mean +cocoa or -cocoa giving the right result.  If anyone can
 offer advice I'd be grateful.
