Comment:

 I'd much prefer to limit the number of variants for the octave port, and
 would prefer to quickly fix the FLTK port. Solutions have been brought up
 in the comments to ticket [http://trac.macports.org/ticket/21054 #21054:
 fltk 1.1.9 does not build 64-bit], so I'll be implementing those changes
 first, before resorting to (imho) more drastic measures.
