Comment:

 Yes, that is correct. pure has never worked correctly on PowerPC, and now
 that the author of pure has had the chance to investigate this, it was
 found that llvm < 2.6 generates incorrect code on PowerPC. I have
 [ticket:21174 already requested] llvm-devel be updated to the latest
 prerelease version of llvm 2.6 but the maintainer has not yet responded.
