New description:

Google has a library to aid in reading and writing KML and KMZ files used
by google earth and other GIS programs. It is called libkml.
It is currently at version 1.0.1

It compiles nicely on macs (10.5 and 1.6) and linux.

If a port could be added for this library that would be awesome. It is
the typical configure, make, make check, make install style.

It's dependencies I think are naturally meet by 10.6 itself.

 The link is http://code.google.com/p/libkml/ [[BR]]
 The download is http://libkml.googlecode.com/files/libkml-1.0.1.tar.gz
 [[BR]]
If I knew how to make portfiles I would do this myself.

 Thanks,
 Kyle
