 An attempt was made to detail how the patch was applied however the 4
 commands all got displayed on one line, so I'll try again:

 1. copy the 2 patch files to the
 "/opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/ports/security/tripwire"
 directory

 2. as root type the following 4 commands:
    # cd $(port dir tripwire)
    # patch -p0 <Portfile-tripwire.diff
    # cp patch-configure.diff files/.
    # port install tripwire
