 Sorry, I just posted this http://trac.macports.org/ticket/21581 and
 randomly found this ticket.

 Am I wrong in that this is as simple as just putting the compile options
 to php5 and Mysql5 to share the same socket path for defaults?  This to
 me, would always be better than needing to edit any config file.
