 It's definitely not interesting in the sense that upstream isn't doing
 anything with < 2.6 these days (including good 64bit support, hence < 2.6
 having issues on 10.6).  Until 2.7, 2.6 should be the best python for
 compatibility since it doesn't drop anything like py3k does.

 I'm definitely all for removing all the old pythons once we can move
 things to 2.6 and/or 3.1.
