Comment:

 It builds for me on Snow Leopard, and the output you showed isn't enough
 to know what went wrong. Could you please clean and try again with debug
 output?

 ~/Desktop/php5-syck.txt

 Then attach php5-syck.txt from your desktop to this ticket.
