 Running something innocuous like "port clean qgis"
 [http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail/macports-
 users/2010-April/019739.html produces the message] "Error: Qgis requires
 python". It should not do this. Usually, we wrap such error messages in a
 pre-configure block, since before the configure phase, you cannot
 guarantee that the dependencies you require have already been installed.
