 Thanks for locating the issue.
 Can you please help me with a fix for the problem?

 I have selected python26 before installation of python scientific, and
 done this repeatedly, and even tried to reinstall py26-scientific with no
 success.

 sudo python_select python26
 }}}
 Does not help.
 Do you have any idea of how to help python_select choose python26, or
 should I report this as a bug related to python_select?
