Comment:

 I am able to reproduce the problem when I have the binutils port
 installed, which I see you have installed too. Having binutils installed
 will cause some other ports to fail to build. I recommend uninstalling
 binutils. I've added a note to the binutils port to this effect. See also
 #22681.
