 That's what I thought. I can probably fix the port to avoid this problem.

 However, since you are on Snow Leopard, there is no reason universal_archs
 should have been i386 ppc; it should have been i386 x86_64. The fact that
 it was i386 ppc suggests your macports.conf is old. Please spend some time
 comparing your macports.conf with the macports.conf.default in the same
 directory and pulling in any changes that don't conflict with edits you
 actually intended to make to your configuration.
