 The problem is that the "poppler" port does not come with Qt support by
 default. I was able to get PDF support to work in okular by:

 - building poppler with +qt4 +quartz
 - rebuilding kdegraphics4

 I would be in favour of having poppler build with qt4-mac support by
 default.
