 Have you (the OP) tried this recently?  qt4-mac has been updated to 4.6.3
 & maybe some other ports have also changed.  I just tried installing psi
 with current qt4-mac & qca and it works for me (with or without
 +externalqca).  Here's what I'd recommend you do:
 {{{
 sudo port clean psi
 sudo port selfupdate
 sudo port upgrade qt4-mac
 }}}
 then go away for a few hours while 'port' does it's thing.  Once the above
 is finished, do:
 {{{
 sudo port -d install psi +plugins 2>&1 | tee ~/Desktop/psi_debug_out.txt
 }}}
 and then if it fails can you please post the created file & it might give
 us more info to go on?  If it's still broken I'm thinking the issue might
 be a header conflict.
