 The only way I could get this to work was to do this:

   'port extract db46'

 Then I did:

   cd `port dir db46`/work/db*

 Then manually patch the source:

   patch -p0 < `port dir db46`/patch.4.6.21.{1,2,3,4}

 Then proceeded with the regular 'port install db46'
