Comment:

 git-core uses python during its build process and provides a python module
 in `${prefix}/lib/python2.6/site-packages/git_remote_helpers`. It was
 erroneously using `/usr/bin/python` instead before my change. I did not
 investigate if this is necessary at all or could be made optional with a
 variant.

 MacPorts does not rely on the system libraries, but installs its [wiki:FAQ
 #own-libs own libraries]. At least you can get rid of the xorg-*
 dependencies when using the +no_tkinter variant for python26.
