Comment:

 sqlite registry format was only available starting with MacPorts 1.9.0. It
 is recommended, but MacPorts does not switch you to it automatically.

 You don't have to reinstall anything; you only need to set portdbformat to
 sqlite in macports.conf. It will upgrade your registry automatically next
 time you run any port command.
