 Is a kded4 process running? If not, then it will not work. It is started
 by kdeinit4. Technically, getting that to run is outside the scope of
 kdenlive, and I tried to help with the directions on kdenlive.org, but any
 improvements to the instructions must wait until I next get around to a
 completely fresh install of MacPorts.
