 I did check
 http://trac.macports.org/wiki/MisbehavingServers
  I use Google's DNS' 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and they have never failed me
 before, usually better than local ISP.

 PS tried to install in order to later install perl module IO::Epoll from
 cpan

 My system
 iMac OSX 10.6.5, MacPorts base version 1.9.2 installed,
 Intel Core 2 duo

 Did port selfupdate before attempting install - MacPorts was already at
 1,9,2
