 Also note that in the original summary I mention running autoreconf, but
 this causes more trouble with libtool no longer working for linking:

 So instead after previous patch I used just 'autoconf' for the latter log
 file, which is using version 2.65 from macports, not the native 2.61 with
 OS X 10.6...
