Comment:

 Looks like you have broken autoconf somewhere.  autoconf should've changed
 that variable when making the Makefile.

 Please post the full debug build output.  You need to clean first.

 sudo port -v clean xorg-libXp
 sudo port -v upgrade outdated
 sudo port -d install xorg-libXp
 }}}

 What version of autoconf do you have?
