 Both [http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man1/flock.1.html linux]
 and [http://www.freshports.org/sysutils/flock freebsd] contain
 implementations of the useful flock(1) program. The closest existing
 program on darwin/macports is shlock(1), which is neither as secure or
 robust.
