#23817: hugin-app violates the layout of the ports-filesystems
------------------------------+---------------------------------------------
Reporter: kpreid@… | Owner: macports-tickets@…
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: Low | Milestone:
Component: ports | Version: 1.8.2
Keywords: layout violation | Port: hugin-app
------------------------------+---------------------------------------------
I installed hugin-app with no special configuration and it placed its
.apps in the wrong location.
{{{
bash-3.2$ port install hugin-app
[...]
---> Staging hugin-app into destroot
Warning: violation by /Stuff/ports/Application
Warning: hugin-app violates the layout of the ports-filesystems!
Warning: Please fix or indicate this misbehavior (if it is intended), it
will be an error in future releases!
MacPorts running without privileges. You may be unable to complete certain
actions (eg install).
---> Installing hugin-app @7.0-2903_1
---> Activating hugin-app @7.0-2903_1
---> Cleaning hugin-app
bash-3.2$ port version
Version: 1.8.2
bash-3.2$ ls /Stuff/ports/Application
Hugin.app HuginStitchProject.app
}}}
(Note that I am running my MacPorts installation as a non-root user (thus
the spurious "running without privileges" message) and its prefix is
/Stuff/ports/.)
This location is wrong in three ways:
* It is not /Applications/MacPorts
* The directory is named "Application", not "Applications"
* An Applications directory does not belong in $prefix
