 I do not know. I have used port clean xxx, but it does not seem to make a
 difference. Is there another way? To give you some background I first
 received the error while attempting to install gedit. Several packages
 failed to build to include gcc43, atk, aspell, hunspell and various
 python25 packages. I narrowed down the list by successfully building the
 packages individually except for python25. A point of interest, when I
 look at my installed ports, python26 appears as installed.
