#23442: mit-scheme 20090107 Configure error - build failure

Comment(by darin-macports@…):
There is a build_arch setting, but it's commented out:
{{{
# CPU architecture to compile for. Defaults to i386 or ppc on Mac OS X
10.5
# and earlier, depending on the CPU type detected at runtime. On Mac OS X
10.6
# the default is x86_64 if the CPU supports it, i386 otherwise.
#build_arch i386
}}}
I have no idea why it didn't pick up the fact that I'm running 10.6 and
then compile to x86_64. I -thought- I had a totally clean install of
Macports and that I had never installed it before, but now I'm beginning
to wonder if I didn't already install it and compile something prior to
upgrading to 10.6. Even so, I would have thought that doing "sudo port
upgrade outdated" would have recompiled any installed ports for the new
architecture (including ncurses).
What do you think? Should I try removing ncurses and giving it another go?
Or do you want me to wait so I can test your new patch(es)?
Again, thanks for all your help and prompt responses -- it's much
appreciated.
