 You are talking about [wiki:SummerOfCode?version=123#images depot
 dependencies] (there are also mailing list posts). As long as we have
 direct mode, this is not possible. It would also be mutual exclusive with
 the current images-and-archives plans, see #19458 and the corresponding
 branch.
