 It was /bin/bash 2,05b, once i installed 4.something into
 /opt/local/bin/bash the problem went away. I don't remember too much more
 about it. I got a little fed up with all the out of date software on the
 machine and installed Gentoo Linux on it instead a couple weeks ago.
