 Sorry I didn't reply yesterday; I was a bit busy. I also tried the patch
 and Amarok did compile for me, but I thought I'd done something wrong (and
 was trying to understand what) because I couldn't get Amarok to start. I
 ran the dbus-related commands in Terminal but some of them produced error
 messages, so now I'll keep an eye on ticket #25578 as recommended. I'm
 also waiting for the new Amarok and qt4-mac updates to compile. The main
 thing is: thanks for the help so far!
