 I experience the same issue on iBook G4 running OS 10.5.8.  I am using
 sudo to run port command. The shell script is not executable:


 $ ls -l
 /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_textproc_texi2html/work/texi2html-5.0
 /install-sh
 -rw-r--r--  1 root  admin  13184 Jan  5  2009
 /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_textproc_texi2html/work/texi2html-5.0
