 Yes, please check the permissions to see if this is the same problem. A
 build log from `sudo port -d install macfuse` would also be helpful.
 Actually, would be helpful from both of you. (I can't reproduce the
 problem, so any potentially-relevant info would help)

 The lack of a prefpane is normal, the port doesn't install it.
