 I am a newcomer to OS X as well as Macports. I have followed the
 instructions in the Macports guide to install Xcode, macports base and
 done the requisite selfupdate and "upgrade outdated". I have installed
 about 164 packages without problems. However installing soprano fails
 during the build phase.

 I searched for any existing reports/tickets related to soprano but
 couldn't find any. I tried a couple of experiments to specify macports-
 gcc-4.4,3 but that didn't work either. The full log of a clean install
 attempt is attached.
