 My apologies: I must have missed some of those details.

 As far as the mirror, I may have two answers. In
 `/opt/local/etc/macports/sources.conf`, the only line uncommented was
 `rsync://rsync.macports.org/release/ports/ [default]`. When I cleaned and
 tried a verbose install of winetricks, I had this line show up: `--->
 Attempting to fetch winetricks from http://www.kegel.com/wine/`. I think
 it tried to download from there.

 Hopefully that helps a bit more than previously.
