 Thanks for your comments, I am still rather new to macports. 2.2b3 does
 not work on my OS X 10.5.8 system. There are quite a few nice new features
 in pytables 2.2. It seems numpy 1.4 is not required but I pulled it
 accidentally with an update. I could not find information about devel
 versions of ports.
