 You're welcome for the help; I'm glad it worked out so well & reasonably
 quickly too!

 I also would have thought 'upgrade outdated' or an initial install would
 work; I have no idea why they didn't, nor what you / anyone would do to be
 more precise in getting 'port' to "do the right thing".  In my experience,
 these little glitches just happen from time to time and you have be
 explicit at those times, by tracking down the exact port that's having
 issues and uninstalling and reinstalling that port (and sometimes from
 there forward).  Maybe that's the "price" of progress sometimes?  Sorry I
 can't be more precise.
