 According to a blog entry at http://smalltalk.gnu.org/blog/bprior
 /macports-gnu-smalltalk-wont-build-snow-leopard this is due to a different
 version of gmp being used. Someone there has linked to this little patch
 http://github.com/bonzini/smalltalk/commit/04ac00a8.patch, which applies
 (with patch -p1) - there's just a little conflict for the libgst/Changelog
 file, which i removed manually.

 After applying this patch, gst  build (-gtk -tcltk +nox) and installed
 cleanly on my 10.6.2. I had to fight some readline issues, but know it's
 running just fine.
