 hello macports support,

 i am trying to get macports to work on my macbook. i tried several dmg
 packages (1.7.0, 1.8.0, 1.8.2), of course after uninstalling any
 previously installed versions of macports.

 specifications of my macbook:
 running mac os 10.5.8
 2 ghz intel core 2 duo
 2 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram

 none of the packages seem to install properly. here is the message i get
 (after getting a 'succeed' message in the installation dialog):

 i notice there are problems after updating to snow leopard, but i did not
 do so - what could be the problem here?
