 Since the code has already been fixed upstream, the only thing you really
 need to work on is getting the developers of this software to release 1.2
 final. It's been almost two years since they put out 1.2rc1, which they
 should be considering releasing as 1.2 final more or less as is (since
 that's
 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Release_candidate
 what "release candidate" means]) and not substantially rewriting it as
 [http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/2010-February/007649.html they
 seem to be planning].
